Project Coordinator and Quality Assurance Analyst (Mar-2010) | POSITION FILLED
We are seeking an experienced Project Coordinator and Quality Assurance Analyst with experience in desktop and web-based applications.
Agile, experienced, and driven to build high quality software, Talus provides integrated software solutions to our Energy and Financial Services clients in both Canada and the US. Our web-based and desktop solutions are built from the ground-up using Microsoft's .NET platform.

As a member of the Application Development Team, the Project Coordinator & QA Analyst will be exposed to and involved in virtually all facets of the software development lifecycle. The team meets regularly to keep apprised of overall project status and progress is tracked via individual updates by each team member. The successful candidate is expected to possess or develop a broad complement of business, communication, and technical skills that will allow him or her to implement processes across all layers of the product lifecycle.
Key responsibilities of this position are:
· Provide project coordination and task tracking for all Talus projects.
· Develop quality standards and validation techniques.
· Assist with software specification writing.
· Research, develop, implement and document test plans and test scripts.
· Communicate effectively with our clients.
· Prepare architectural, design, and user documentation.
· Interact with staff members in an effective and professional manner.
This position requires the following skills and qualifications:
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English.
· Service oriented personality.
· Relevant university degree or diploma from an accredited technical institute.
· Two or more years' experience in the software development lifecycle.
· Experience in test-driven development methodologies and agile development approaches.
· Strong motivation with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
· Strong Microsoft Word skills.
The following skills and qualifications would be an added asset:
· Familiarity with GIS concepts and software applications – ESRI ArcGIS.
· Familiarity with seismic data and the PPDM data model.
